1) What Is The H2 Tag in SEO

Separating your long content with sub-headings is not only a good thing to improve user engagement, but it helps with SEO too.

Putting secondary keywords within sub-headings will give you a chance for ranking for those keywords too. 

An h2 tag is a subheading so you’ve got your main headline h1 tag, and then you’ve also got underneath that a hierarchy of tags going down from that. So you’ll have h2, which is a sub-heading of h1, h3, which is a subheading of h2, etc, etc, up to age six. So how else does this tie into SEO? Well, your h2 tag is important as well. Unlike the h1 you can have multiple instances across your page of the h2 tag and it’s written pretty much the same way as an h1 tag is replacing the one for the two. So as you’ll see on the screen here, it is an example of an h2 tag when it comes to HTML. So this is an easy way to do it in terms of writing the code. 

So from an SEO point of view, use the h2 tag to optimise towards further keywords you want to target so when you’ve done your keyword research again looking at the other terms, you can reuse the primary keyword and your h2 is you can expand your reach of keywords across all of the ones you’ve researched previously, and try and rank for those by utilising them and your h2 tags as well. So it’s one of the ways you can try and rank for multiple terms across many subjects. And it’s a good way to give your content a proper hierarchy. So when Google looks at your page, it can understand and get to know what kind of content you’re talking about. And it means that it can find the subjects we’re discussing in terms of that keyword within your headlines. So now you know how headings are used when it comes to SEO and how to optimise your heading tags within your content. Use the h1 tag once use all the other tags below h1 in the hierarchy as many times as you like. Make sure you do your keyword research and understand which keywords you’d like to target. And when you know that you can use your headlines to put your keywords into your headline in a strategic way. To make sure you rank better on searches.
